The Future of Building Control

ACE believes that the Department for Communities and Local Government’s (DCLG) consultation on The Future of Building Control is fundamentally flawed, because it fails to address issues vital to improving the quality of building control and ensuring that the Building Regulations are adhered to. These issues relate to the competence and qualifications of those responsible for building control (Building Control Officers (BCO) and Approved Inspectors (AI)) and the consistency and quality of standards to which they must adhere.
