DECC Consultation: Microgeneration Strategy

ACE has submitted a written response to DECC’s preliminary Microgeneration Strategy Consultation.

Response Summary:-

Microgeneration plays an important role in the process of decarbonising our electricity supply and protecting customers from volatile energy markets. However, reaching these goals will require an integrated approach using not only microgeneration technology but also improving the energy efficiency of the housing stock and consumer appliances.

ACE strongly believes that a Microgeneration strategy must not be formulated in isolation from a demand reduction strategy. There is a real risk that opportunities will be missed and poor financial decisions made if microgeneration is pursued before energy efficiency and demand reduction are fully considered.
